This rare example of a brick carriage house was built in 1909...
Building materials include brick of running bond, a concrete foundation, concrete lintels and lugsills and triangular shaped asphalt shingles. This rare example of a brick carriage house was built in 1909 for neighbors Peter Norbeck and Charles Nicholson, who at the time were partners in an artesian well-drilling business. Among his political offices, Peter Norbeck served as South Dakota Governor and US Senator.
