City of Redfield Welcomes 23,000+ Attendees from Around the Country to Pheasant Fest 2025
March 20, 2025
Attendees were on the hunt for the City of Redfield’s booth during the 2025 National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic on March 7-9, where thousands of attendees from across the country flocked to the Kansas City Convention Center for a weekend full of all things upland birds.
“As the song goes, ‘Kansas City Here We Come!’” said Redfield Area Chamber of Commerce director Kim Leonhardt. “Pheasant Fest 2025 was a smashing success with a record-breaking 23,000 attendees and over 400 exhibitors. Upland hunting enthusiasts and conservationists were able to enjoy seminars, outdoor equipment, workshops, hunting gear and so much more!”
Hosted by Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, the event drew hunting enthusiasts from across the country as well as individual exhibitors that ranged from Scheel’s to Dakota Adventure Supply.
“The highlight of Pheasant Fest was the diversity in attendees that traveled from all over the country to Kansas City, Missouri with one common interest… Pheasant hunting and conservation!” said Leonhardt. “It amazed me that at our Redfield booth we visited with people from Hawaii, Michigan, Montana, Utah, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Virginia, and so many more states! This truly was a testimony to their commitment and dedication to the Pheasants Forever mission.”
Engaging With Thousands
“The City of Redfield engaged with thousands of visitors to our booth,” said Leonhardt. “Conveniently located in the South Dakota Pavilion near the main entrance of the convention center, we distributed over 1,800 swag bags, water bottles, decals and marketing materials all branding Redfield as The Pheasant Capital Of the World©.”
The Annual Dog Bird Parade kicked off the festivities with 100 canines from 40 breeds walking to the ribbon cutting ceremony. Meanwhile, a Youth Village was designed to encourage kiddos to take a shot at the indoor BB gun and inflatable archery ranges while ladies hung out at the Women on the Wing Lounge, enjoying brunch, networking, and swapping hunting tips.
A variety of Upland Bird Sessions offered diverse technical and poster sessions while industry experts led seminars on the half hour that delved into topics such as Myths, Misunderstandings, and Red Herrings of the Quail World and Booms, Busts, and Bobwhites: Unraveling the Secrets of a Vanishing Icon, as well as conservation-focused talks like The Largest-Ever Moment to Conserve Grasslands in the Great Plains and Know the Boots You’re Wearing: Effective Communication for Conservation.
After each full day, ticketed events included the Concert for Conservation, Friday Night Upland Rally and the Bobwhite Ball.
“As the Pheasant Capital of the World© it is especially important to be visible in prominent shows such as Pheasant Fest. Attendees enjoyed the photo opportunity with our Pheasant Mascot and we had a special hashtag sign made for the occasion!” said Leonhardt. “We also hosted a raffle each day for a $1,000 trip to Redfield and a GoPro Bundle Package valued at over $500. We had a total of six lucky winners, two per day, at the three day event! Social media posts and videos were created to welcome attendees and celebrate the raffle winners, too. We are already making plans for Pheasant Fest 2026 scheduled to be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota on February 20-22.”
